lyrics
It will happen just like that,
One day your world is turning,
And the next it's down in flames.
There's no ground left where you walked,
And you feel yourself falling,
Into a dark and living grave.
You try and scream for help,
But your voice, it just keeps breaking,
And your words dissolve into air.
You can hope you're missed this time,
You can pray someone will notice,
But in your heart you know there's no one left who cares.
One by one,
Every thread has come undone,
I am left to fall into my inner fray.
This time I know the ending,
This time there's no ascending,
This darkness, neverending in depths I can't escape.
All I ventured, nothing gained,
All I do now is in vain,
I have come to know my fate is preordained.
No one will save a wretch like me,
Forever lost, too blind to see,
There is no grace from way on high to set me free.
One by one,
Every light has come and gone,
I am left to hide forever in this shade.
This time I know the ending,
This time there's no ascending,
This darkness neverending in depths I can't escape.
There's a scar for every day,
Still painful to the touch,
But if there's one saving grace,
I can only bleed so much.
One by one,
I will shed the bonds of blood,
And ascend to heights where sorrow can't hold sway.
This time I know the answer,
It's time to leave this cancer,
And hope to find in the unknown, my saving grace.

Damn, these guys know how to adorn epic music with sub-par cover art - but "Lamenting..." proves to be an absolute stunner once it plays. Sorcerer deliver another masterclass in Epic Doom, merging traditional vibes with contemporary production values AND sounding fresh while doing so. The songs may be even stronger than before, with no fillers and huge vocal lines throughout. If you're remotely interested in the melancholy-ridden yet powerful fringes of Epic Metal, this is mandatory. x0riente
It's a great blend of different metal genres and styles, with great solos in basically every song, just that touch of oriental influences that feel natural but not artificial and above all else, performed by the beautiful, haunting voice of Jelena Dobric, who uses it in a way that is not the typical operatic approach as we are used to from other female-fronted bands wormys_queue
A powerful metal opus, blending soaring vocals, intricate melodies, and thunderous riffs for an epic listening experience. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 26, 2023
