lyrics
These are perilous times,
The experts agree.
It's not safe for our children to travel the streets.
The dangers surround us,
and grow worse every day,
The news is a marathon of violence,
Eight more blown away.
Fear is all we see,
Fear is all we know.
Fear is what we teach,
And fear is what we sow.
Welcome to school son, put your keys in this tray,
Just empty your bag and your pockets, and you’ll be on your way.
It's not about freedom, it's about keeping you safe,
Just try to forget what you gave up and have a nice day!
Fear is all you see,
Fear is all you know.
Fear is all you need,
Fear of the unknown.
There is no reprieve,
There is no respite.
The day is coming, it'll happen to you,
It's just a matter of time.
We live our lives afraid, on guard and filled with dread we cannot escape.
Though we try to understand why all we can do is shelter in place.
Our children can't cope with all that they feel,
Once peaceful surroundings are now battlefields.
There must be an answer,
Some evil or cause,
Something or someone to blame for our loss.
It's those films or their music or those fucking games,
That make them this violent and fuck with their brains.
It couldn't be us, no, we've done all we can,
And it's not good enough to erase the....
Fear.
We can't escape fear..
We have to do more than shelter in place.
Control your...
Resist your...
Master your...
Conquer your..
Fear.
Or you'll never escape
Free yourself from the prison cell,
Stem the tide and take back your life,
Once you realize you'll never be.......safe.
Fear cannot control our lives.
Fear cannot control our lives.
Fear will not control our lives.
Fear will not control our lives.

Damn, these guys know how to adorn epic music with sub-par cover art - but "Lamenting..." proves to be an absolute stunner once it plays. Sorcerer deliver another masterclass in Epic Doom, merging traditional vibes with contemporary production values AND sounding fresh while doing so. The songs may be even stronger than before, with no fillers and huge vocal lines throughout. If you're remotely interested in the melancholy-ridden yet powerful fringes of Epic Metal, this is mandatory. x0riente

It's a great blend of different metal genres and styles, with great solos in basically every song, just that touch of oriental influences that feel natural but not artificial and above all else, performed by the beautiful, haunting voice of Jelena Dobric, who uses it in a way that is not the typical operatic approach as we are used to from other female-fronted bands wormys_queue
A powerful metal opus, blending soaring vocals, intricate melodies, and thunderous riffs for an epic listening experience. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 26, 2023
