lyrics
Awaken to a world in flames, the ash obscures our sight.
No answers, no reasons why, our reality set alight.
What was before became no more,
And now we travel on this road,
Toward the light, hoping to find,
The terminal through endless night.
What was our life, we left behind,
There was no time to say goodbye.
The road it winds and never finds,
A place where we can close our eyes.
What was before became no more,
But still we swore (we'd carry on),
Through dust and haze, night the new day,
The years decayed (we carried on).
The fight to survive consumes our lives,
Despair, it thrives (we carry on).
Hoping to find there is a place beyond this endless night.
We yearn, for just one day of rest,
We turn, away from our morality.
We burn, through all the good that's left,
And we in turn lose all we fought to keep.
I lie awake, staring into to the gray,
I see their faces, all those I put to the blade.
I feel a sickness deep inside me take control,
I am the monster, and I can't feel my soul.
I am terminal.
What was before became no more,
But still we swore (we'd carry on),
Through dust and haze, night the new day,
The years decayed (we carried on).
The line was crossed and we paid the cost,
Our souls are lost (we carry on).
Towards the line that still divides the darkness from the light.

Damn, these guys know how to adorn epic music with sub-par cover art - but "Lamenting..." proves to be an absolute stunner once it plays. Sorcerer deliver another masterclass in Epic Doom, merging traditional vibes with contemporary production values AND sounding fresh while doing so. The songs may be even stronger than before, with no fillers and huge vocal lines throughout. If you're remotely interested in the melancholy-ridden yet powerful fringes of Epic Metal, this is mandatory. x0riente
It's a great blend of different metal genres and styles, with great solos in basically every song, just that touch of oriental influences that feel natural but not artificial and above all else, performed by the beautiful, haunting voice of Jelena Dobric, who uses it in a way that is not the typical operatic approach as we are used to from other female-fronted bands wormys_queue
A powerful metal opus, blending soaring vocals, intricate melodies, and thunderous riffs for an epic listening experience. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 26, 2023
